Gallery Talk at Hole in the Heart

July 15 @ 18:00 - 19:30

Hole in the Heart is a sculptural video installation by Daniela Meroz. The work transforms the Ma’amuta space into a grotesque indoor playground, where playfulness and ritual become exaggerated and distorted.

In a gallery talk with the artist, we will discuss how Meroz creates environments of toys and play – worlds and spaces that combine rules and structures drawn from sports, politics, and carnival. We will explore the ways in which inflation, exaggeration, and disassembly – recurring elements in her work- examine violence and power relations.

The event takes place as part of the Manofim Festival and is supported by Barutina, an initiative of the Youth Authority that promotes a regular program of unique cultural events for young people in the city.
