10 years have gone by in a whizz!

Film projectors are dormant, video is kicking ass and Internet is all over the place.
Looking back at old festival catalogues, I see the DJ we once had (in 2006, for a CCA event), Gilad Ratman, has morphed into THE Israeli artist representing Israel at the 2013 Venice Biennale! When I look at the list of artists whose work was shown in these past ten years I feel rewarded for all the toil and trouble we had, especially in the beginning. But the best part is that our audience has grown. So welcome to one and all, newcomers and habitués; let’s meet again and have a Birthday drink to commemorate!
Vivian Ostrovsky

This year we celebrate a decade of Intersections, one of the most innovative and interesting platforms in the Jerusalem Film Festival, initiated by Vivian Ostrovsky and with the support of the Ostrovsky Family Fund. We are very excited to initiate a new award at this year’s Israeli Video Art and Experimental Cinema Competition: First Prize, in Memory of Murray L. Galinson. The Second Prize is given for the 10th year in a row on behalf of the Ostrovsky Family Fund. Besides the Competition, an international symposium, in collaboration with the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design and the Hebrew University, will explore how new technologies have replaced traditional platforms and media on the Internet and how political influences have re-defined the aesthetics, poetics, and politics of video art in the last decade or more.
We thank all our partners and supporters and invite the public to join us in the different events
