Description
Cover Story is a collective title for a series of paintings that ostensibly deal with history. This is an invented history, where fragments of reality and fiction create a blend that becomes a deceptive vision. In this series of paintings, the importance of the past and its role in the psyche is emphasized, as it serves as an ancient layer of our personality.
The paintings are created in a traditional oil-on-canvas technique. Despite the layered oil work, the body of the painting remains lean, with the canvas visible through the brushstrokes. As a result, the impression arises that the painting seeks to capture the intangible nature of memory. This is reflected in the use of diluted color on one hand and tightly composed structures on the other, where the severe formal construction attempts to give validity to the elusive image.
