Description

Five Legs is a graphic novella, an artist’s book, a thriller, and a work of art by Merav Shin Ben-Alon, a multidisciplinary artist who works in drawing, painting, installation, and writing.

The central story of the novella deals with the process of uncovering a family secret. Through representations of different languages and time periods, the gap between the seen and the spoken, between the perceived and the unperceived, and between truth and lies is revealed, leading to a collapse in the perception of reality. Shem Zmit, the book’s editor who wrote the afterword, coined the term “polygraphic novella” for this new genre.
