Otot #2 – Ruth Wieder-Magen and Or Mai – Animal Animus

Ruth Wieder-Magen and Or Mai are an ensemble for voice andelectronics that explores space as a musical instrument. Through acoustic voice and multi-speaker electronic processing, the two artists create a layered musical dialogue—sound is born, resonates in space, undergoes transformation, moves between speakers, and elicits live responses. Together, voice and space become a single instrument.
Dimensionality in Sound engages with enveloping structures of reality—sound that reflects an architecture of being that is both essential and concealed. Sound resonates between structures of reality and structures of consciousness as they wrap around one another and transform into each other.
The animal is our inner structure. The voices of animals are a hidden life force. Their sounds are not only the structure of inner being, but also the universe in its enveloping movements of creation.
