They reflect the great diversity in the video artworks produced over the last two years by Israeli artists working in Israel and abroad. Most of the artists are under the age of forty and at different stages of their artistic careers. Their works deal with notions of ritual, modernism, politics, and personal memory.<\/p>\n<p>The renewal of the competition, the only one of its kind in Israel, is an attempt to promote experimental filmmaking, a field that does not otherwise have many channels of support. The Festival provides an international platform for the presentation of the works and helps give experimental cinema a central place alongside the traditional screen arts.
